The Indianapolis Colts let Jared Lorenzen go also. Lorenzen and Quinn Gray were both cut, leaving Indy with Peyton Manning and Jim Sorgi as its two quarterbacks.

Louisville, Lexington mayors make friendly bet

August 28th, 2008 by chipcosby | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

Louisville mayor Jerry Abramson and Lexington mayor Jim Newberry have made a friendly wager on Sunday’s Governor’s Cup between the University of Louisville and University of Kentucky football teams.

If U of L wins, Abramson will ship Newberry a Louisville cycling jersey, which Newberry will wear for one week when he’s biking.  If UK wins, Abramson will agree to wear a Lexington bike jersey for one week when he cycles on evenings and weekends. Both mayors appeared separately on the Rick Bozich radio show on Thursday.

“I can’t wait to see Mayor Newberry in a Louisville cycling jersey - and I have no worries that I’ll have to wear a Lexington jersey,” Abramson said. “The Cardinals will hand the Cats a stunning defeat.”

The new Louisville bike jerseys will be officially unveiled on Monday, at the Mayor’s Healthy Hometown Hike & Bike. They will be on sale for $60. Bicycling Magazine this month named Louisville one of the three most improved cities in America for cycling.
