UK assistant slims down from playing days

UK graduate assistant Matt McCutchan looks like a new man these days. McCutchan played at close to 300 pounds when he was a three-year starter at center from the Cats from 2004-06. But McCutchan, who’s now working with the offensive line for Coach Rich Brooks, looks more like a tight end than a center these days: He said he’s 50 pounds lighter than he was during his playing days.

“I just didn’t want to be 300 pounds anymore,” McCutchan said. “There’s really no reason for me to be that big.”
