Big Blue U set for Saturday night

UK will host “Big Blue U”, a pep rally that welcomes incoming freshman to the school, on Saturday, Aug. 23 at 8 p.m. at Commonwealth Stadium.

The pep rally will include the UK coaching staff, athletics director Mitch Barnhart and President Lee Todd. Students will join the Wildcat Marching Band in a parade through campus, beginning on Euclid Avenue at 7:30 p.m. and ending at Commonwealth Stadium.

Students will also be given their Traditions T, a new tradition established in 2007 as a means to unite the University of Kentucky student body in celebrating what it means to be a Wildcat. The Traditions T artwork is student-designed, and UK students vote each spring semester to determine the winning design. The student who creates the winning design will receive a $500 stipend, two UK men’s basketball student season tickets, and 10 shirts to give to friends/family personally.
