November 4th, 2008 by chipcosby | Filed under Awards.UK junior cornerback Trevard Lindley has been named one of 13 semifinalists for the Jim Thorpe Award given to the nation’s best defensive back.
Lindley leads the SEC and is tied for sixth in the nation is pass breakups with nine. He also has four interceptions.
The semifinalist list will be narrowed to three finalists on Monday, Nov. 24 and the winner will be announced on the ESPNU College Football Awards Show, broadcast nationally on Thursday, December 11. Formal presentation will be at a banquet in Oklahoma City on Monday, Feb. 11, 2009.
