Liberty Bowl gets 2.7 rating on ESPN

The Jan. 2 Liberty Bowl matchup between Kentucky and E. Carolina drew a 2.7 rating on ESPN, representing an average of 2,630,000 homes.

Overall, the 23 bowl games broadcast on ESPN and ESPN2 averaged 2,810,000 homes, (a 2.5 rating), which is an eight percent increase over last year.

The Champs Sports Bowl drew ESPN’s second-largest audience ever, as an average of 5,098,000 homes (a 5.2 rating) watch Florida State beat Wisconsin 42-13.

The Emerald Bowl (California 24, Miami 17), Alamo Bowl (Missouri 30, Northwestern 23 OT) and Holiday Bowl (Oregon 42, Oklahoma State 31) all drew a 4.6 rating.
