Larry Warford, Neloms looking good

UK had the first of a pair of two-a-day practices on Thursday. And while the season opener with Miami University is more than three weeks away, a pair of true freshman have already caught the the eye of UK Coach Rich Brooks.

Brooks has had high praise for Larry Warford, a 6-foot-3, 349-pounder from Madison Central. Brooks said Warford is a candidate for early playing time at guard despite the presence of returning players Christian Johnson and Stuart Hines, who both have starting experience.  Sophomore Jake Lanefski, who also has four career starts, is out 2-3 weeks after surgery to repair a torn cartilage.

Also, freshman cornerback Martavious Neloms is challenging to make the rotation in the secondary. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Neloms is a native of Memphis.
