Locke was able to finish Kentucky’s 31-24 loss to Mississippi State on Saturday and was the Wildcats’ leading rusher with 103 yards on 17 carries.
Lyons book signing before MSU-UK

Former UK receiver Dicky Lyons, Jr. will be signing copies of the book, ‘True Blue’, along with his father, Dicky Lyons, Sr. and sister, Leslie Lyons, Saturday from 5-6 p.m. at the K-Men’s House, located next to the Cat Walk. The book chronicles the Wildcat career of Lyons Sr. and Lyons Jr. and was penned by Leslie.
M. Johnson to play, won’t start; Lindley still doubtful
October 29th, 2009 by chipcosby | No Comments | Filed in UncategorizedSenior linebacker Micah Johnson made it through practice on Thursday and will be available for some action in Saturday’s game vs. Mississippi State, although Coach Rich Brooks said that sophomore Ronnie Sneed would get the start. Senior cornerback Trevard Lindley (ankle) remains doubtful, but Brooks said Lindley would dress and take part in pre-game warm-ups to see if he can contribute.
Chick-Fil-A Bowl to visit for MSU-UK

Chick-fil-A Bowl representative Mark Zimmerman will visit Commonwealth Stadium in Lexington, Ky. on Saturday to scout the Mississippi State-Kentucky game. The two teams are being scouted as potential representatives in the 2009 Chick-fil-A Bowl on Dec. 31.
he ACC and SEC team selections for the 42nd edition of the Bowl will be announced on Sunday, Dec. 6.

-The ‘Cat Walk’ is set for 4:45 outside Gate 1 of Commonwealth Stadium
-Game captains will be junior cornerback Paul Warford and sophomore guard Stuart Hines, joining permanent captains Corey Peters and Zipp Duncan.
Tailgater shoutouts
October 23rd, 2009 by chipcosby | No Comments | Filed in UncategorizedWith Kentucky set to return home Saturday night against Louisiana-Monroe, I wanted give my Tailgater shout outs to the Lemon Brothers, led by the Huffman boys, Chip and Chad, and Chuck Knight, for their layout during the Alabama game on Oct. 3. The tailgating forecast for the ULM game calls for cool temperatures in the upper 40’s with a 20 percent chance of rain leading up to the 7 p .m kickoff. Things should be cleared up by game time.
Brooks: Newton likely starter for ULM

Kentucky Coach Rich Brooks wasn’t 100 percent sure of who his starting quarterback would be for the Louisiana-Monroe game but said it would ‘probably’ be freshman Morgan Newton. Randall Cobb took the first snap vs. Auburn before Newton came in on the second play of the game. Newton went 5-of-13 passing for 39 yards and also rushed for a touchdown before being replaced by junior Will Fidler in the third quarter. Fidler came in and scored the game-tying touchdown on a 2-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Brooks said that both quarterbacks will likely play in the first half against ULM.
